I have renewed my details on the Federal Government's Do Not Call Register.
The Do Not Call Register is an Australian Government initiative that enables people to opt out of receiving certain telemarketing calls.
Phone numbers on the list automatically drop off after three years unless a household reapplies, meaning the listings of the million-plus people who signed up at the register's launch in May 2007 are due to lapse.
Consumers will be shielded from any risk if they reregister directly.
Thanks Michael, for the timely reminder.
Since last Monday I have had 7 calls from different organisations and telemarketers.
Despite renewing my details on the "Do not call register" every year, after hours calls from charities chasing donations continue.
I won't even start on my objections to the flow of snail mail causes clogging up my post office box.
The RSPCA are notorious for this approach.
